    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Why the emphasis on actual? ISKCON has one attitude on caste - chaturvarnyam maya srishtam, guna karma vibhagasha - the four varnas (Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra) and 4 ashramas (Brahmacari, girhasta, vanaprasta and sanyas) are made by Lord Sri Krsna, as confirmed in Gita and it is divided as per guna (activities) and karma (deeds).

I hope I have explained to your satisfaction.

    haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD

      Hare Krsna

Just to emphasize on what HG Radha Rasamayi Mataji has quoted from BG

      chaturvarnyam maya srishtam,

      guna karma vibhagasha

Krsna says society can be naturally classified into four based on guna(qualities) and karma(activities) [not birth or janma]

Originally the society functioned based on varnashrama based on qualities and activites.

The distorted version of this was birth based caste system in British ruled India which was badly shown by british rulers to destroy vedic culture and rule over India during that time.

So the right outlook is - Varnashrama is scientific and based on guna and karma as Krishna says in BG.

Birth based caste system is unscientific.

      Hare Krsna
