Bhāratavarṣa

Hare Krsna,

  Dear all devotees,Jambudvipa-rus.jpg

   PAMHO

shiv purana :

I shall explain the Bhāratavarṣa. South of the Himālaya mountain and north of the ocean is the land of Bharata. O great sage, its extent is nine thousand Yojanas. This is the land of sacred rites for attaining heaven and salvation. So say the wise people. Heaven and hell are attained by men from here only. I shall mention nine subdivisions of the Bhārata Varṣa to you.Indradyumna, Kaseru, Tāmravarṇa Gabhastimat, Nāgadvīpa, Saumya, Gandharva, Vāruṇa and the ninth is the sub-continent Sāgarasambhṛta. This sub-continent lies North to South extending to a thousand Yojanas.

In all puranas Bhāratavarṣa desription is same.

South of the Himālaya mountain and north of the ocean is the land of Bharata its extent is nine thousand Yojanas

nine thousand Yojanas = 1,17,000 km. (1 Yojana = 13km )

                                     = 9000 km . (if 1 Yojana = 1km )

Now

Kashmir to Kanyakumari = 3676 Kms

northpole to kanyakumari distance = 9,107.98  Kms

That means, the socalled himalaya snow mountains of Kashmir can't be actual Himavat mountains mentioned in puranas ?

Arctic can be Himavat  if  1 Yojana = 1km .

But most of them say 1 Yojana = 13km.  Hence Himavat mountains should be much much north to Arctic  if we take 1,17,000 km from kanyakumari .

Now coming to This Sāgarasambhṛta ( Bharatha khanda or kumari dweepa )

ninth is the sub-continent Sāgarasambhṛta. This sub-continent lies North to South extending to a thousand Yojanas.

 thousand Yojanas = 13000 kms (1 Yojana = 13km )

mexico to kanyakumari distance on flatearth map  = 15000 Kms

(in flat earth map mexico is exactly at northmost tip of india )

This is somewhat matching.

Skanda Purana : Chapter 172 - Glory of Bharateśvara

ref : https://www.wisdomlib.org/hinduism/book/the-skanda-purana/d/doc626960.html

He divided Bhārata into nine parts and gave a part to each of them. The continents were named after them.

7-8. They are Indra DvīpaKaseruTāmravarṇaGabhastimānNāga DvīpaSaumyaGāndharva and Aruṇa. O my beloved, this is the ninth one named by the Kumārī. The earlier eight Dvīpas were flooded by the ocean.

9. Along with the villages, regions etc., they remained within the ocean. Now only one among them named Kumārī, remains steady.

10. It extends to a thousand Yojanas to the south of Bindusaras[1] and north of the ocean.

That means, the present visible world is only tenth part of Bharatha Varsha i.e Sāgarasambhṛta ( Bharatha khanda ) as eight other Dvīpas were flooded by the ocean.

If so,what is socalled Kashmir himalayas, and arcitic ?

What is antarcitica ?

Thankyou.
