Bhagavad Gita knowledge

Hare Krishna

Sri Krishna tells in Bhagavad Gita  verse 4.2 that the knowledge of Bhagavad Gita got lost with time though it was recieced in a continous tradition of Guru parampara. How did the eternal knowledge got lost in a continous Guru parampara how come this same knowledge that Sri Krishna gave 5000 yrs before is still continuing even though Sri Krishna himself told that this knowledge had got lost before. I can't understand this contradiction pls clarify this to me

And are all words in the Puranas true or are some symbolic and if all are true  then did all the lilas of all Devi and Devatas had occured on Earth only or did it occur in different lokas and planets and do normal people take part in lila or only those who are spirituality advanced or Devatas take part like in the lilas of Sri Krishna were there any normal people there or were all people who came in contact with Sri Krishna spiritually advanced.  Pls clarify this to me

  • From my understanding, Puranas use symbolism and metaphors. Divine Lilas can occur on various planes, and people can participate indirectly through stories and rituals. Buckshot Roulette

How did the eternal knowledge got lost in a continous Guru parampar ?

This has already been answered by lord Sri Krsna in the same shloka and also by Srila Prabhupada in the purport to the same shloka.

The knowledge was lost but it was revived by Lord Krsna Himself by making Arjuna His devotee 5,000 years ago. I hope that answers the first part of your question.
