"When we are nice and polite why do people try to take us for granted?" The sentence in itself proves that you are not polite and nice from the bottom of your heart. Because when you are polite and nice from the bottom of your heart, you don't bother about the reaction since you are satisfied about yourself and of your activity. Being satisfied yourself is more important rather than people's satisfaction. When you are doing the act genuinely from the heart you are least bothered about reaction, it is a case of Just do it and forget it. When your mind starts telling you that you are being taken for granted and this thought is accepted by you, it is a proof that all the while you have been doing an acting of being polite and nice to get an applaud from the other person, to get a clap on your back in appreciation. How to analyse whether you were acting or really being nice and polite from the bottom of your heart :- Just stand all alone before a mirror and stare in your eyes and ask the question to yourself, the very firt answer that you get is the true answer. But after getting that answer, your conscious mind starts justifying your deeds as good even if they are wrong.
In this context the Jaghai Maghai story with Chaitanya Mahaprabhu fits in. Both the fellows were very bad still they were converted to Krishna Consciousness because of True from the heart sympathy shown towards them.

In this world every one wants to reach the top and in the process pulls down everyone else who stands in his way but in KC its the reverse. We work according to Krishna's wishes;if Krishna likes someone we push the person towards him or we push him up on the ladder of KC.
    • very nice thoughts.......]
  • PAMHO AGTSP,

    HARE KRISHNA,

I learned in business that your frame of mind is very important. How you "Posture" yourself and others creates that "Frame of Mind". Here is what I mean ...

    Scenario 1

A devotee walks up to a businessman very shy and meekly in order to solicit the GITA for laksmi. The businessman looks at the clothing the devotee has on and the non enthusiasmhe He emits. So the businessman concludes whatever he is trying to offer must be weird and not that important since the devotee himself in excited about the Gita, so he ignores or even disrepects the devotee (A lot of people go through this).

    Scenario 2

A devotee walks up to businessman very confidently and enthusiastically about the GITA in exchange for laksmi. The businesman now looks at the weirdly dressed devotee, but he see's the confidence that the devotee has and the intense enthusiasm, which makes him more open to and less disrespectful than before. The businessman understands whatever is being solicited has to be worth looking at.

This all comes down to time, place and circumstance. You must learn that whenever trying to associate with karmi's you MUST CHANT 1ST, be openly excited and confident about taking them back to Godhead (i.e., book distribution, kirtan, prasade). Your frame of mind must be SOLID (but not overly AGGRESSIVE and PUSHY).

    I hope this helps you.

    YS,

    Keith
  • Hare Krishna Dear Shaloo ji

No matter how a person behaves with us...we as Krishna bhaktas should always treat others nicely...if they do not understand you its because they are simply ignorant. Always keep good intentions for others, radiate love all around and leave the rest to Krishna.

    • hare krishna to all...
i think a person is continously misbehaving with u then u must answer for his rudeness....otherwise he will always treat u in the same way....
even the lord krshna replied the duryodhana in his own way...
but first of all we try to b polite and convince with them in polite manner....
because when a person starts misbehaving and u don't response then other also start to behave in the same way. because of ur genuiness.......
      well this is my view...
if i m wrong, pls forgive me...
  • very true they feel that we are weak and we need them so they act over smart and take our advantage .some where we are responsible for it because we love them and always forget what ever bad they do with us.but they dont understand that no body wil tolerate them so much .and they wil suffer for their behaviour in future cause how long can they behave like this .one day they might realize it.but we must not pay too much attention for their this behaviour .leave it to krsna.tell krsna to deal with it and we wi l feel happy.hare krsna
