Atheism and Mayawad

Hare Krishna!

I am new to this Platform, hence I forgive me if I said anything offensive which the following statement may apparently sound so.
And do please correct me if offended any Devotee.

Someone told me (don't want to name him), that we all were Mayawadis or Impersonalists (Not Sure of the Latter) in our previous births.
However, because of our efforts in our previous lives, we have arrived at the Krishna Bhakti Platform? Is that so?
If not, then what did we do in our previous births and who were we that we got to know about Krishna in this Birth?
Can someone elaborate furthermore with their answer?

Thanks!
Haribol!

Many people say many things. That is the reason why there is information overload. Please ask "someone" to privde a reference from a vaishnava scripture.

  • We must have done something right in a previous life to be able to associate with devotees in this life. But other than that... why concern yourself with any previous life? We have no memory of previous lives, and they have no bearing on our future (if you follow bhakti).  I am more concerned with what I do with this life.  Maybe it could be my last one? That is the goal, anyway.

  • In one of Prabhupada Purports in the Bhagavatam he says that in order to advance in Krishna-Bhakti you have to give up the idea of oneness with God (Krishna).
