Hare Krsna Mataji , Arjuna lived 5,000 years ago. At that time everyone in India and outside India to some extent were following the varna ashrama system of the vedas. Arjuna was born and trained as a kshatriya prince. He was a very handsome and powerful man. To ware moustach and beard was very popular then especialy among the warrior class. Even in the military today many officers ware moustaches. It looks very macho don't you think? Like a lion. Arjuna is very famous as the freind of Lord Krsna and all the Pandavas also. They are glorified in Bahgavat mahabharat and the Gita as very dear devotees of Krsna. Not all devotees look or dress the same. At the time of Lord Chaitanya the devotees dressed in many ways and some with very little cloth. Not all shaved and kept sikha and there was all different types of tilak and other signs of devotion or no external signs of devotion at all. In ISKCon we have our dress and hair style according to the requests of our gurudev and we look fairly uniform. People recognise us by the dress and say Hare Krsna. to greet us. This is all part of our gurudevs preaching mission. There maybe other nice devotees outside ISKCon who are wearing a big moustach like Bhaktivinode Thakur had when he was a high court judge.
