A killing is a killing whether it is of a small mosquito or of an elephant. It is because of our mistakes that mosquitoes and cockroaches appear in our kitchens and living places. If you do not supply them food they will not come. You can use mosquito coil or good night liquid. They do not kill, but simply keep these creatures away. Previously cow-dung used to be applied in the kitchen which acted as a repellant. But now in the so called modern days life killer chemicals are more accepted, because we have lost our morals. People now-a-days have lost "Sahansheelta". People are becoming brutes by their constant brain-washing by Visual Media like TV, Theatres. Brutality is spreading like a Virus very fast. Human beings are slowly becoming concerned about themselves only. They have started feeling that to live in this world is only their right and small creatures don't have any right to live. You have heard projects like save tiger, lion, elephant. But you never might have heard of project save Ants, Cockroaches, Lizards, Spiders etc. Are you prepared to really save these creatures at the cost of your convenience. If yes then you can't kill them. If No then you are free to kill them. Mind you Krishna will definitely choose Yes. Hare Krishna
well, the best option obviously is to keep your surroundings so clean that you are not bothered by cockroaches, and as for mosquitos, it is better to keep them away without killing them if possible. Of course I am not setting some heavy rules in stone, and I admit that I have often killed mosquitos. Nevertheless, as much as possible we should not kill other living entities, unless they are an immediate danger, such as snakes.
