Jiva Goswami states in his Bhakti Sandarbha that Vrindavan is a state of consciousness. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta once said that there is an intimate correlation between nama (the holy name) anddhama (the holy land). He said that it is only within the dhama that the nama fully manifests. Of course, where there is nama, dhama becomes manifest, but dhama means ‘the state of consciousness of Vrindavan’.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, “My mind is like Vrindavan.” He said that for most people, the mind a

“There are three things that are inconceivable: the position of Lord Siva, hladini sakti, and, yes, guru-tattva.” (BR Sridhara Swami)

Among all the spiritual personalities the position of Lord Siva is unique. In one of my previous blog I shared how I used to worship lord Shiva. After coming into Krishna consciousness I still retain a special corner in my heart for lord Shiva and now when I read and hear more lectures from senior devotees about him, the fog of

The origin of Lord Chaitanya's name is mentioned in CBh. 2.28.179,181: "You aroused everyone's spiritual consciousness (Chaitanya) and inspired the entire world to chant the Holy Name of Krishna, thus Your are called Sri Krishna Chaitanya."

According to the Tantra tradition, the term 'krishnavarna' mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam refers to Krishna Chaitanya. Ramabhadra Vaishnavacharya Goswami has said, "yasya namadyavayave sah krishnacaitanyah"; just as Satya refers to Satyabhama, and Bhima re

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

The aula-sampradayabala-sampradaya, and others invented their own ways of understanding Lord Chaitanya's philosophy, without following in the footsteps of the acaryas. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself indicates herein that all such attempts would simply spoil the spirit of his cult. (Caitanya-caritamrta madhya 1.271 purport.)

Parishads: Srila Baladeva Vidyabhushana

The exact time and place of Sri Baladeva Vidyabhushana’s birth are unknown. Perhaps one day historians will be able to establish these facts beyond any doubt. From the little information that we do have about his life, we can conjecture that he was born in the 17th century of the modern era. Though we do not know the name of the exact village where he took birth, it was likely in the Balesore (Baleshvara) district of Orissa, somewhere near Remuna. From the date given in his commentary on Rupa Go
