“What are the characteristics of Śrī Jagannātha, Śrī Baladev, and Śrī Subhadra? Jagannāthaa, the emblem of God, has no other form than eyes and hands, which show that God sees, knows, and creates. Balarām is the source of jīva-śakti, Subhadra is māyā-śakti, and Sudarśana is the energy of will”. (Pg. 128, Śrī Bhaktivinoda Vāṇī Vaibhava)

Pusta Krishna Das Prabhu, a senior Prabhupada disciple who served as Srila Prabhupada’s personal secretary, a GBC, sannyasi and pioneer preacher in the early days of ISKCON, has passed away due to fourth stage liver cancer.

Pusta Krishna left this world at 6:19pm on June 24th, surrounded by his loving family – his wife Daru Brahma Dasi, daughter Krsnapriya Dasi, and son Chaitanya Das.

Born Paul Dossick, he joined ISKCON in October 1970 in Gainesville, Florida. Leaving college as a premed s

Two men fairly fresh from India, two from Canada (actual monks), and a young Ukrainian, hit the Bruce Trail trudging through mud.  The two Indians were enthralled.  “Green, that’s all that can be seen!” reflected one, who also added, “This is very, very, very nice!”  That was Venkat, from Andhra Pradesh.

The second one, Audarya, responded by sharing.  He held up his phone, filmed as he was walking through the green forest and shared a few steps with his wife and mother in India.

How can we look at Krsna and see Him as the well-wisher of all living beings when there is so much suffering in this world? There is so much distress around us. And then if we think about that, all the great hardships that are happening to people, then here we have the all kind, all loving Supreme Lord, the well-wisher of all living beings. How can we see it like that? How can we see suffering as a benediction? But that is exactly what suffering is. It is a bitter medicine!

We cannot just look

Krsna shows that ultimately, higher even than dharma (duty), is the love that exists between Krsna and his devotee. That is why in Kurukshetra, Krsna broke his vow. Krsna had promised not to fight, but when Bhismadev was about to kill Arjuna, suddenly he took up the wheel! Krsna shows that the love for his devotee is even greater than dharma. And it is this secret that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came to teach – developing a loving relationship which exists between a devotee and Krsna.

“Hey, Walking Monk!” shouted the soul from the window of his vehicle as I was approaching Bloor Street.  I wasn’t sure in the beginning who the greeter was, so I moved closer.

“Remember me?” he  asked.

Looking closely, I could identify him.  It was Johnny!

“It’s been a while.”

“Yes, it has.”

“I’m doing weddings, these days.”

“You mean you’re a priest?”

“No, just a thing.”

“Okay, thing.”

It was nice to see Johnny who had his two young daughters with him, and who joined in with

"When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead, keep your head up high and gaze into Heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal."

This world is such that instances like these keep happening now and then. Sometimes they are intentional

A Hare Krishna devotee was sent from San Francisco to the UK in 1968 with two missions: to set up the movement’s first temple in London – and to meet the Beatles.

It was a seemingly quixotic quest, according to Gurudas, 78, otherwise known as Roger Siegel, who has released pictures from the period that will be published to mark the temple’s 50th anniversary.

With the release of The White Album, the Beatles were at the peak of their fame, and, as Gurudas
