Time, Place and Mind

Start chanting very early in the morning, either with devotees, Tulasi-devi, Thakurji, or in a place free from disturbance. Sit before your Deities or Tulasi-devi and chant prayers to Sri Guru and the parampara, the six Gosvamis and the Panca-tattva. Remember Thakura Haridasa and pray for his mercy. Pray to the holy name to help you chant with full attention, purely, and free from offenses. If the mind starts "jumping," calm it down by prayer, pranayama, or loud chanting.

Invoking The Lord's Mercy

When we chant with devotion, we invoke the mercy. How is that? When we chant nicely, we get the purification that allows us to think of Krsna in any situation and it then allows us to depend on the Lord to give us protection. This feeling of dependence on the Lord is our expression of devotion and it's what the Lord likes to feel from His devotee. By chanting with strength we invoke the Lord as we would catch the attention of someone when we call his or her name.

"To get vaccination from the sense gratification is to absorb in transcendental ecstasy. To do that we need to have a strong desire. In a few days, months, years, if you are determined and if somehow you could convince Lord Nithyananda, "I don't have any other desire but to get back to You. You should please give me that little drop of mercy."

For Lord Nithyananda prabhu is very merciful. He doesn't see whether a person is qualified or not qualified. He is very liberal in giving that mer

Krsna says, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja: "Let aside everything. Just become My devotee, a surrendered soul." So we are preaching that. We don't make compromise. Therefore all people are against me. Because "This man simply says, Krsna.' " But I cannot say anything more. 731228sb.la

In spiritual matters, everything is spoken frankly, without compromise. We say, "If you are not Krsna conscious, then you are a rascal. You may be th

GURUVAKYA

"Everybody goes to the West seeking happiness. But when His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada went to the West, he told everybody that you are not happy, for all these reasons. He wasn't fooled by the presentations of so called happiness. He was seeing reality - what actually was the real situation.

Just like then first Srila Prabhupada arrived in Boston and went for a two hour walk he was outside the New York Harbour and wrote that poem, a prayer preaching Bhagavata Dharma

Finding Joy in Everyday Spiritual Life

1.Create opportunities to do what you love to do for Krishna. We all have gifts and talents that are God- given. Use them in devotional service. When you do what you love to do, you often do it best, and giving your best to Krishna is what is wanted. The practice of surrender is often doing services that need to be done, for the pleasure of Krishna, even when it doesn’t suit us, or we don’t like to do it. That’s wonderful. And needed. But along with that, do

1. Kind to Everyone

Sometimes we are kind to everyone outside of our home and nasty to those near to us. Treat your child with kindness and he will learn to be kind – a word of appreciation, a pat of encouragement, a hug of affection. Show kindness to others – a helping hand, giving charity, a word of thanks. Kindness does not mean giving in to your child – it means never giving up on your child. You also show your kindness by setting clear expectations, boundaries and following through on conseq

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,

Turn Lower Desires into Superior Desires
From H H Sachinanadana Swami

"One can give up inferior desires when engaged in superior desires. To try to stop desires is impossible. One has to desire the Supreme in order not to be entangled in inferior desires." (Srila Prabhupada in his SB purport to 4.22.39)

The crucial question is: How to increase our spiritual desires? Here is Prabhupada's simple advice: "There must be regular recitation on the talks of God. Going and coming to the temple, church or m

This is one of the widely celebrated Vaishnava festivals in Bangladesh that falls on the ‘Madhu Krishna trayodashi’ (the next trayodashi after Gaura Purnima). Everyone, regardless of age, participates with great enthusiasm to take a holy dip in the “Pana Tirtha’ on this very auspicious day.

“Pana” means promise. Advaita Acarya Prabhu’s Mother Nabhadevi desired to take bath in the Ganges but at the same time she was lamenting because of her old age and the Ganga being very far from her village. To

On Speaking Strongly in Srila Prabhupada's Service

Once at a festival in Hawaii, a bogus group was glorifying a supposed incarnation of Rama and Krsna. Govinda Dasi stood up on a table and started yelling: "How can you say this ugly man is God?" A girl complained, "You're not emanating love." Govinda Dasi shot back, "This ugly old man is killing you and you want me to emanate love." This was reported to Srila Prabhupada, who was very pleased and ordered the incident to be reported in Back to Godh

Gita Govinda - Radha’s feelings of separation from Krsna
Song by Jayadeva Gosvami

When Radha saw Krsna enjoying affectionate exchanges with all the cowherd maidens in the groves of Vrndavana, she became indignant because he had not acknowledged her eminence. She immediately departed for another part of the forest and hid herself inside a shady bower that resounded with the drone of bumblebees. When the sakhi saw Radha powerless to go to Krsna despite her being fervently desirous of his company, sh
