A full set on a special occasion

I'd shown the Bhagavatam to a colleague during one of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur's anniversaries in 2014.

She appreciated it very much, and after looking at the volumes, she said she'd get back to me. But somehow I never asked her again.

Recently, we were discussing one of our company's clients, CERN, a European organization where the www (world wide web) was invented. CERN does research to find out how the universe was created and how creation began. They have the world's largest, most powerful

Isan prabhu has just written the amazing history of the development of the Balaram Mrdanga and I would like to add to that, having been a part in the project for over 35 years.

In March of 1977 my brother, Manu priya dasa, was helping to build the first Ratha yatra carts in Los Angeles, working under Lalitanatha dasa who was taking direction from Jayananda prabhu. Manu wrote to me and said “you are a carpenter why don’t you come help us build these carts”. He included

Gudur is a town in the Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh, located around 140 kilometers North of one of India’s largest cities, Chennai, on National Highway 5. It is well known for large natural deposits of the mineral “mica” in and around the town.

The town is also important due to the Railway station, a very large junction station connecting Chennai to Vijayawada, and from there to North, West, and Eastern India.

Nellore district is also famous for the local varieties of ri

The Last Tour Day

TOVP Daily Tour Diary Days 107-108: The Grand Finale – Seattle, Washington

Saturday and Sunday, July 4th and 5th, were the last two days of the North American TOVP Tour, 2015. They were, in fact, record days for our fundraising and visits to devotees homes. During these two days Jananivas prabhu alone visited over 25 devotees’ homes, going from one to the other with the Padukas and Sitari, bringing the blessings of Sri Mayapur Dhama.

Wherever he went, devotees felt as if Mayapur had come with h

Govardhanastakam

Hare Krishna!

" vajendra hatim yap api ajanam , Govardhano me disatam abhistam", Govardhanastakam by Srila Vishvanatha Chakrvarthi Thakur.

Most of the astakams are composed by Srila Vishvanatha Chakrvarthi Thakur, like the Sri Guruvastakam.

The particular verse is explaining how thunderbolts were being showered on Sri Giriraj but because he was held by lotus finger of Sri Mukunda, he felt  nothing.

A parallel can be drawn how pure devotees are able to accept all turmoils for pleasure of the Lord bec

How to chant Japa (Mantra Meditation)

How to chant Japa (Mantra Meditation):
Chant on one bead then move to the next, go forward and not backward. If you twirl the bead when you chant the tendency is that you might chant on more than one bead for one mantra.

Solutions:
1) Hold on to the bead tightly (for dear life) like a drowning man in the ocean of birth and death holds on to the rope cast by the spiritual master in the boat of devotional service.

2) Get bigger beads ! If people question you why you're chanting on huge beads tel

I didn’t have his horoscope but I thought – let me at least check what was happeni

San Francisco Airport Arrival Lila, 1974

By Padmapani das

Greeting Srila Prabhupada at the airport was never an ordinary occasion. Some of my fondest spiritual memories are of those wonderful times when devotees would gather together en masse to meet the world traveling paramahamsa. One such occasion was at the San Francisco International Airport in 1974 when Srila Prabhupada so kindly gave us a glimpse of his true transcendental nature. The sweet memory of those few moments of ecstacy remai
