Chariot Festival, Ratha Yatra is a colourful and vibrant public festival that dates back thousands of years to ancient India. It features a huge chariot pulled by hand, accompanied by music and dancing, culminating in a fun-filled afternoon of stage shows and exhibitions as well as a free, sumptuous vegetarian feast.

जॉन (यशोदा दुलाल दास) करीब पिछले तीस वर्षों से हरे कृष्ण भक्त हैं और वे इस्कॉन के, पाश्चात्य देशों में पहुँचने की ५०वीं वर्षगाँठ, के उपलक्ष्य में एक वर्ष की यह पदयात्रा कर रहे हैं । 
सैमसन नामक अपने पहाड़ी-घोड़े एवं १०० वर्ष पुरानी घोड़ा-गाड़ी लेकर वे न्यूज़ीलैंड के क्राइस्टचर्च से लगभग १० दिन पहले अपनी यात्रा आरम्भ कर चुके हैं ।

परम पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्री कृष्ण सभी अवतारों के उद्गम हैं । उनका प्रथम विस्तार श्री बलराम जी हैं । भगवान श्री कृष्ण और श्री बलराम जी में मात्र रूप का अंतर है । 
प्रथम विस्तार होने के कारण बलराम जी से ही सम्पूर्ण आध्यात्मिक संसार का उद्गम हुआ है । वे मूल गुरु-तत्त्व, सब जीवों के आदि-गुरु भी हैं ।
