On Representing Srila Prabhupada

Nowadays I'm getting many letters, mostly from people met on preaching travels or who have read my books. Many ask for advice, and I reply, advising as Srila Prabhupada advised us. The replies are often filled with tremendous gratefulness. People become so enlivened to get what seems to me straightforward advice like, "Try to chant Hare Krsna attentively and read Srila Prabhupada's books every day." So much affection is being showered on me through the mail. I har

Are You a Human Being...?

"People are being a human being, we should be concerned not to neglect this opportunity we have to fully develop our consciousness.

Why someone would take animal birth? Of course one thing would be thinking about the animal at the end of life. Other thing is to develop a consciousness which is more suited to the next birth being an animal birth, than a human being.

Like say somebody is drunk all the time, or something, that's just always in a stooper. They're not, they don't want to be very consci

On Remembering Srila Prabhupada

I personally felt the presence of Prabhupada very strongly in the early days of our preaching mission in Bangladesh. There were but few devotees, and we were spread thin. I had to spend weeks and months without strong association. It was underground work. There were many difficulties. I had to call to Srila Prabhupada for help, and that was the only thing that helped me to keep going.

Once I was traveling alone in Bangladesh, undergoing many difficulties, compounded

Little Drops of Nectar: Ratha Yatra

This is the 1974 Ratha Yatra in Melbourne, Australia. Prabhupada walked and did little dance steps the whole route without riding in the Ratha Yatra cart. On the evening of this day when I was mas saging Srila Prabhupada’s legs he remarked to me, “You were dancing nicely today”. His own dancing inspired me to dance and here I am yielding his cane while he plays karatalas. He is wearing flashy silk clothes, a white cadar and varied colored hat and turtle neck.
