Srila Prabhupada's Fighting SpiritSrila Prabhupada was a fighter. Throughout his life he struggled against the indifference of his family. Just to get on the Jaladuta he had to overcome more indifference, plus disbelief and government red tape. He landed in America, a lone fighter, armed with the sword of knowledge. After taking stock of the battle ahead, he proceeded to hack away at just about everything America stood for.He was against modern "slaughterhouse" education and the grossly material

Srimati Radhika as Gandhesvari

Srimati Radhika as Gandhesvari

2514554774?profile=original

Sri Krsna and the cowherd boys would smear aromatic (gandha) substances on their bodies while grazing the cows. It is said that Sri Krsna became intoxicated by the fragrance emanating from the body of Srimati Radhika, who was hiding nearby with Her girlfriends. Seeing Srimatiji, the flute slipped from His hands, His peacock feather crown fell at Her lotus feet, and He fainted. From then Srimati Radhika is also called as Gandhesvari.

Out of Africa
Dialopatey Ngalete is African in origin, Indian in spirit. So, when he sings
the Krishna kirtan, it is with the added flavour of American bluegrass and
jazz

When Congolese musician Dialopatey Ngalete is not studying Hindu scriptures in
Vrindavan, he is travelling around the world singing Krishna kirtan in Braj
bhasha and Sanskrit. His band of African-American musicians, called
Vrajabadhu, accompanies him with a line-up of classic bluegrass (a form of
American country music) instruments — b

Peak-experiences in bhakti

(From the "Japa" book by HG Bhurjana Prabhu)

Q: When I visit certain holy places or temples I feel strong emotions and
often cry. Where do these emotions come from? I then find myself trying to
feel the same emotions later. Is this all right or am I trying to enjoy my
senses in the name of spiritual life?

A: Imagine a curtain hanging over a window. The thicker the curtain, the
less light will come through into the room. In the dhama the curtain or
veil between the material and spiritual worlds is thin.

1. After a short time passed, both brothers, Rama and Krsna, began to crawl on the ground of Vraja with the strength of Their hands and knees and thus enjoy Their childhood play.

2. When Krsna and Balarama, with the strength of Their legs, crawled in the muddy places created in Vraja by cow dung and cow urine, Their crawling resembled the crawling of serpents, and the sound of Their ankle bells was ver

Prabhupada Knows Everything

Sometimes devotees see me, a sannyasi, and ask, "How have you become so spiritually advanced?" Of course, I know more about my position than they do. Simply officially taking sannyasa is no cure for the nonsense mind. One thing, though, is that I never doubted anything Prabhupada said. I know that everything Srila Prabhupada says is right. Prabhupada knows Krsna; therefore he knows everything. If anyone thinks that Srila Prabhupada made a mistake, then he made a mistak
