Actual fearlessness & freedom from all worries

Death was walking toward a city one morning and a man asked, "What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to take 100 people." Death replied.

"That's horrible" the man said.

"That's the way it is." Death said. "That's what I do."

The man hurried to warn everyone he could about Death's plan.

As evening fell, he met Death again. "You told me you were going to take 100 people," the man said, "Why did 1,000 die?"

"I kept my word" Death responded. "I only took 100 people. Worry took the other...."

On Srila Prabhupada's Spiritual Revolution

If the preachers in our Krsna consciousness movement are sincere devotees of Krsna, Krsna will always be with them because He is very kind and favorable to all His devotees. Just as Arjuna and Krsna were victorious in the Battle of Kuruksetra, this Krsna consciousness movement will surely emerge victorious if we but remain sincere devotees of the Lord and serve the Lord according to the advice of predecessors (the six Gosvamis and other devotees of the L

A Proposal

Quite a few devotees in our movement are expressing dissatisfaction, albeit not without cause. Here is a proposal for solving all the problems in our society. It is based on the understanding that pure devotional service brings immediate relief from all kinds of material distress, and is the beginning of all auspiciousness (c.f. Nectar of Devotion, Chapter One). All devotees should:

(1) read Srila Prabhupada's books one to two hours daily; (2) chant and dance together in kirtana; (3) ch

Celebrated the two days with Mangal Arati, Tulasi Puja, Shringar Arti, Guru Puja and Srimad Bhagvatam class. Sunday happened to be Padmini Ekasdasi, one of the highly esteemed Ekadasis. The class was given out of a recording by Srila Prabhupada on Spiritual Aesthetics.

A Rosy Encounter (short story, realization)

This morning, I hurried to her, earlier than usual. I was worried sick. It had been four days and there seemed to be no change in her condition. I had not slept well the whole night. In fact, I had not slept well for the past several nights.

I checked her bed and my heart sank. Her drooping posture told me all.

I collapsed into a chair and looked at her in resignation.

I was not the kind who took interest in such things. But on that fateful day, at the floral exhibition, I happened to see her, and

On Srila Prabhupada's Spiritual Revolution

Misinterpretation can cause chaos. An example is Christianity, whose early adherents were vegetarians and believed in reincarnation. Later, these principles were rejected from mainstream Christianity, which has largely remained divorced from the true spirit of Christ ever since. It is incumbent, therefore, on the followers of Srila Prabhupada to carefully grasp the essence of his teachings and not speculate or deviate in any way. It is simple to understa

On Srila Prabhupada's Spiritual Revolution

ISKCON is non-different from Srila Prabhupada -- "my body," he said. Let us always remember how much Srila Prabhupada desired this movement to be successful. There have been, are, and will be discrepancies and difficulties within ISKCON, especially without Prabhupada to personally chastise us and keep us in order. We sometimes tend to forget exactly what Prabhupada wanted us to do, and sometimes life in ISKCON has been unnecessarily very difficult. But d
