Radha: greater than Krsna

Posted on September 5, 2011

Krsna and Radharani are both transcendentally qualified, and They attract
one another. But Radharanis transcendental attractiveness is greater than
Krsna’s, for Her attractiveness is the transcendental taste in conjugal
love.

Radharani’s excellence

Posted on September 4, 2011

“Srimati Radharani’s excellence was Her cooking,” Prabhupada said. “She
could also sing and dance, but Her great service was Her cooking for Krsna.
Mother Yasoda would ask Her personally to come and cook for Krsna and the
cowherd boys. So, all in a line, She would feed them prasadam.”

If one is committing offenses in the matter of chanting the Holy name,
then one may chant for many many births, and still one will not attain

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.28.18

The glory of the Lord is always worth singing, for His glories enhance
the glories of His devotees. One should therefore meditate upon the
Supreme Personality of Godhead and upon His devotees. One should
meditate on the eternal form of the Lord until the mind becomes fixed.

PURPORT

One has to fix his mind on the Supreme Personality of Godhead
constantly. When one is accustomed to thinking of one of the
innumerable forms of the Lord — Kṛṣṇa, Viṣṇu, Rāma, Nārāyaṇa,
etc. — he has r

material contamination.

Hare Krishna,
All glories to jagat guru, param guru Srila Prabhupada!

Kindly accept my humble obeisances.

The best example of material contamination is if you find yourself in this planet and are not self realized, then that is due to material contamination. Material contamination results from the sprit souls contact with matter and being influenced by the modes of matter.

Also anything, action, behaviour, thought whether in the gross or subtle mind that does not render service or incline one to ser

Sign of a Devotee

So, what is the symptom of a devotee? How do you recognize a devotee?
Do we recognize a devotee by his birth? By his material condition? By
his material situation? No, the sign of a devotee is through his
surrender to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It doesn’t matter
from whatever category, whatever background one comes. Like candalo’pi
dvija-shrestho hari- bhakti-parayanah. One maybe a candala but hari
bhakti parayanah, when he becomes a devotee of Hari, Krishna, then he
is dvija shrestha, he is s

Cooking tips

Around mid-morning, Srila Prabhupada noticed a strong, choking spicy smell of chillies in the air and called for Upendra.

"Are you cooking, Upendra?" Prabhupada asked.

"Yes, Srila Prabhupada."

"You are cooking too spicy," Prabhupada admonished.

"Oh, it's not for you, Srila Prabhupada," explained Upendra. "I'm cooking for the devotees."

"They should not eat spicy food either." Prabhupada reminded Upendra that too much spicy food arouses the passions, insisting that, in future, Upendra seas

New altar for Melbourne temple

Syamananda had been commissioned to design a grand new altar for Melbourne temple. The elaborate wood and marble structure, which filled the entire Deity room, had not been quite ready for Prabhupada's arrival.

Now, however, after many sleepless nights for Syamananda and Frank, a young carpenter who had volunteered his services -- a brother of one of the devotees -- the altar would be revealed for all to see.

Previous altars had usually consisted of box-shaped structu

Thought Of The Day

Simply engage yourself in Krishnas service. That will protect you from any attack of maya. Maya can take Krishnas place in our heart as soon as there is a slackness on our part. Otherwise, if Krishnas seated always, maya has no opportunity to occupy the seat.

Thought Of The Day

Radha-Krishna philosophy is a very great philosophy. It is to be understood in the liberated stage. Radha-Krishna philosophy is not to be understood in the conditioned stage. But when we worship Radha-Krishna in our conditional stage, actually we worship Laksmi-Narayana.
