Introduction

Nonviolence in politics may be a diplomacy, but it is never a factor or principle.

svargam yanty aparan-mukhah

yajnesu pasavo brahman

hanyante satatam dvijaih

A question naturally arises, "Why d

Purification of Existence

Thought Of the Day

"Not a grass moves without the sanction of God." So without sanction of God, we cannot do anything. You may say that when we do something bad, why God gives us sanction? But because we want to do it persistently, so God gives us sanction: "All right. You can do it. And you have to enjoy or suffer the result." Therefore in the Bhagavad-gita, the last instructi

Market vendors and passengers at the Suva bus station took advantage of free lunches yesterday provided by the Hare Krishna movement.

The members of the Hare Krishna faith distributed 1000 serves of food to passers-by.

There were no restrictions on the number of serves they could take so some were seen with more than one takeaway pack of vegetarian curry and rice. Hare Krishna devotee Manoj Kumar said the distribution of food marked their last day on a pilgrimage.

"Devotees went on a pilgrimage

With a new year rolling in, many may be wondering what will happen with the damaged economy, the upcoming U.S. elections, and people’s likeliness to transcend all this and turn to spirituality. Then again, the world might end on December 21st, if we’re to believe some interpretations of the Mayan Calendar.

We asked three prominent Vedic Astrologers to shed some light on all this: Hamsa-Avatar Dasa, who runs the Vedic Cultural Fellowship organization in Ocala, Florida; Nalini-Kanta Dasa, author
