Now that our dear Godsister, Chandi, has brought the Yamuna back to Keshi Ghata, there is a beautiful lake in front of the palace. So again Keshi Ghata will be the venue of this year's Yamuna Boat Festival on Saturday afternoon March 17th. She worked tirelessly to bring the Yamuna back to the ghatas and it is so glorious, so now we will return our annual festival to this lovely place. We have purposely kept it on Saturday so all the devotees from Delhi, Agra, and other neighboring cities can c

I work as a caregiver for devotee parents in Stratford, Connecticut, but I also like to go out and distribute books as much as I can. So this morning as I was on my japa walk when I met a gentleman whom I see every morning. He walks his dog by the beach. So I approached him and showed him a Gita. His reaction?
"Oh my God! A few days ago I was thinking, 'I have a copy of this book somewhere in my home,' but I couldn't find it!"
It was a nice surprise to hear that.
He continued, "This is just

Srila Prabhupada told us that the chanting means to address the Lord.
We talk to Him by calling His name.
But we may wonder, How does the Lord feel about those who chant? Does
He notice them?
Yes. Krsna notices chanters even if they don't notice Him - and He
thinks of them. As Srila Vishvanath Chakravarti Thakura said, "When someone chants the Lord's name, the Lord's mind dwells on him. Krishna thinks, 'This person belongs

Because of lack of transcendental knowledge, one is thinking, “Oh because of Krishna Consciousness, I will give up some happiness, like going to the movies at night.” Some kind of attachment is there.
There is a story about Sanatana Goswami’s servant. He asked Sanatana Goswami, “There is a party going on in the forest…there is a big festival. Could I go and participate?”
Sanatana Goswami said, “Festival?…in the middle of
Bhagavan. Bhagavan means the proprietor of all wealth, aisvarya, samagrasya. Not any limited amount, but samagra, everything. Krsna says that. Bhoktaram yajna..., sarva-loka-mahesvaram: "I am the proprietor of all the planets." Krsna says that. So you check Him, that "How He is the proprietor of all the planets?" Therefore He showed Visvarupa, the universal form, how everything is within Him.
So everything is Krsna's unlimited. So therefore all-unlimited means Krsna, all-attractive. That is the

Marriage Ceremony
The marriage ceremony was yet another fire sacrifice. Many guests and visitors filled the temple room, including Yamuna’s Aunt Edna from Klamath Falls, Oregon. Janaki, Yamuna’s sister, had been running around making preparations and had brought margarine instead of butter to make the ghee used in the ceremony. To make things even more precarious, wood from fruit cartons was used instead of forest twigs and branches, so that during the ceremony the fire continuously sputtered, e
Question:
If Jesus Christ was a jagad-guru and his instructions are capable of bringing us deliverance, why do we need a spiritual master?
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada:
We accept both the universal spiritual master and the initiating spiritual master. By accepting only the jagad-guru, we may face many anarthas. If at present we want to follow Christ’s orders by accepting him as jagad-guru and we think we do not require an initiating spiritual master, we will certainly face doubt

According to a local astrologer, by the Gregorian calendar Lord Caitanya was born on this day, February 27th, in 1486, 7 minutes after the Hungarian parliament passed the church, a law that retained the church status for ISKCON in Hungary. We are now one of only 32 recognized churches in the country--down from over 300. Legally, we have the same rights and standing as t

The commander of that sub later read Srila Prabhupada's biog

One should try hard to constantly chant the holy names of Krishna clearly and lovingly rather than trying to increase the number of rounds.

When faults in others misguide and delude you, have patience, introspect, find faults in yourself. Know that others cannot harm you unless you harm yourself.
