Why Krsna? Why not Rama?

Hare Krishna!
Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada,

1. Why most of the people worship Lord Krsna? Why they are not interested in worshiping Lord Rama?

2. Can someone get liberated by worshiping Lord Rama?

3. Why Lord Rama was defeated in so many battles against many people that time? If HE is the Lord, then HE should conquer all the battles.

  • I think there is some problem in your vision that you are unable to see that people are worshiping Shri Ram.

Lord Shri Krishna himself chants the name of Shri Ram, what should I say to others?

    2) The same mantra that Shri Ram gave to Hanuman, Shri Krishna giving it to Yudhishthira and saying,

    4) He gave a very famous mantra to Yudhishthir

If salvation was not being attained by the name of Rama, then Shri Krishna himself would have neither chanted the name of Shri Ram nor would have asked Arjuna and Yudhishthira to chant.

There has not been any such battle in which Shri Ram has been defeated, you cannot see him losing even in your dreams.

~The five signs of heroes are used only for Shri Ram in the scriptures and were not used for anyone. Remove this thing from your mind that someone can defeat Shri Ram, such a person would have been born on this earth.

  • Hi
    Please accept my humble obeisance.
    hare krishna .

    1. please read my blog of being difference between purna purushottam and maryada purshottam .
    2. Lord Ram was maryada purushottam so as discribed by utsav prabhuji Lord fulfils his followers wishes let it be a defeat for him in this material world but that does not define him.
    3. Krishna the name of our dear lord suggest "sarva akarshak" it attaracts all who is near to him and who is not.
more over he is the supreme personality and has over hand of every living /non living entity.
forgive me if i offended some one .

and there is no difference between Ram and krishna only thing Krishna Creator of all .

    hari bol.

Utsav prabhu and Mihir prabhu have answered your question, but just to add something:

    1) It's not that we are not interested in worshiping Lord Rama, but we (for those who worship Krsna) are just more attracted to Krsna and his pastimes and his style. For others they prefer Lord Rama.

    2) Without a doubt. Lord Rama is non-different from Lord Krsna in that they both are the supreme personalities of godheads, but Krsna is the original.

    3) Utsav Prabhu answered this with very nice examples.

  • Hare Krishna Prabhu.

All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gouranga.

I am a very ignorant person so please forgive me as I am trying to answer these questions in an aspirant mood.

    1. People worship different forms of Krishna according to their own wish. Sri Krishna is "Svayam Bhagavan" and Lord Rama is a Lilavatara as I know. You can also worship Lord Rama. Murari Gupta, a devotee of Sri Gouranga used to worship Lord Rama with great love. You can read Sri Gupta's story in CC.

    2. Why not? A sincere devotee of Lord Rama can be liberated by the mercy of the Lord and go to Ayodhya Dhama in the spiritual world.

    3. It is due to his mysterious pastimes Prabhuji! Some explanations are there...

    # One day, Meghnada, the son of Ravana, got  a boon from the Fire god that he will win in the battle... and Fire God is a devotee of Bhagavan Rama.So Lord decided to make his words true and himself was defeated by the Nagapasha weapon thrown by Meghanada that day.

    # Mahiravana, another son of Ravana captured Sri Rama and Laksmana to Patala Loka. Hanuman went there and saved them by slaying that Mahiravana.

Actually mahiravana was a gandharva and devotee of Lord Vishnu. By the curse of Sage Astabakra he was born as a Raksasa and was liberated by facing death in the hand of Hanumanji. So, he was not liberated if the Lord was not captured by him in his playful mood! It is the grace of Sri Rama!

Many examples can be given in this regard. Please contact senior devotees for that purpose.

    Hari Bol!

    With respect,

    your sevant Utsav.
