It is extremely difficult for a person to attain God. Moreover, there is no greater benefit and no greater bliss than attaining God. Then, why do people abandon such immense bliss and struggle painfully for worthless objects?

  • Wonderful analogy Prabhuji ! Instead of calling out loud the name of Hari, we are licking that honey in the form of panch-vishays. Only Hari naam can save us from this miserable situation.

    IGNORANCE

    FORGETFULNESS

    LAZINESS

    • Very true Mataji...Of all these 3 factors, I think that laziness is the worst as it impedes one from performing austerities and acquiring spiritual knowledge. Thanks for sharing Mataji...

It is sad isn't it ... but the sad truth is the mentality of people. Many people believe nowadays that this life is our only life, so we should enjoy to the max ... and if there comes a time where they want something out of their reach ... "Om Jai Jagadhish Hare, a car and a house by the beach" (I heard this joke from Badrinarayana Prabhu). In other words, people only want to keep God a a wish maker. That and they wish to enjoy for themselves. Basically, what devotees see as a painful struggle - is most likely seen as the zest of life to these materialists.

    • True prabhuji, these people are really unfortunate. Human birth is attained after 35 crore Prakrit Pralays and they waste this valuable birth in enjoying perishable panch-vishays. This is suicide of jiva.
