Why did Nityananda Prabhu consider the carrying of a sannyasa staff by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to be useless and why did Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted to carry the staff personally?

The devotees could not understand why Nityananda Prabhu broke the staff and why after permitting Him, Caitanya Mahaprabhu became angry. No one could understand the real purpose of the two Lords, Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu.
