LAST RESOLVER
In the beginning of Mahabharata, Lord Vyasdeva has written that the four vedas (including upanishads/brahman granthas etc.) feel extremely fearful of demoniac people especially in this age of Kaliyuga that they feel secured by wearing the armour of Puraanas and Mahaabharat. Therefore, Shri Mahamuni Vyaas has clearly directed Sanatan Dharmis as well as all those vidharmis who want to discuss about Sanatan Dharma - to follow the instruction of Mahabharat (Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is part of Mahaabhaarat) and since, Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuranam is the last treatise composed/revealed by Mahamuni Vedavyaas, therefore, the gravity of Shrimad Bhagavatam surpasses the gravity of all other scriptures including even Mahabharat and Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. Because, even after composing Mahabharat, Vyasdeva wasn't satisfied. When Narada Muni instructed him to compose Shrimad Bhagavatam, only then Vyaasdev (the greatest guru/acharya/rishi/muni of Sanatan Dharma) became fully satisfied with the eternal bliss so much so that he left his pen forever and didn't compose any other scripture after that. So, it is concluded by the statement of Mahabharat (1st canto - 1st chapter, 267th verse): "Itihaaspuraanaabhyaam vedam samupabrimhayet / bibheti alpashrutaad vedo maamayam praharishyati" - that Vedas have to be interpreted (esp. in Kaliyuga) solely on the strength of Puraanas and Itihaas (which is Mahaabhaarat itself). Since Mahaabhaarat was written after the 17 puraanas (and before Shrimad-Bhagavatam) were compiled, the comparative superlative authenticity of Mahabharat stands pass all the 15 puraanas. And the authenticity of Shrimad Bhagavatam even surpasses Mahabharat (Bhagavad-gita included within). So, either focus your debate on any statement of Mahabharat (Bhagvadgita included) or Shrimad Bhagavatam.
Because the final and last resolver of all issues in Sanatan Dharma are: Mahabharat and Shrimad Bhagavatam.
Because of the fear of misinterpretation by demoniac persons, Lord Vyaaseva Himself has made this law that (esp. in this Kaliyug) all the vedas and matters related to Sanatan Vaidik Dharma be finally resolved based on the authority of Mahabharat and Shrimad Bhagavatam.
