I have been coming across the following terms recently, but am confused as to what/who they are referring to.

1. Prachetas

2. 21 prajapatis

3. Vishve-devas

4. Sadhyas

5. Guhyakas

As far as I am aware, these are different classes of demi-gods/semi-divine beings, but I wanted to know the details of each, so that I could get a better understanding of who/what they exactly are.

  • Hare Krishna,

I have limited knowledge about them. Whatever I know I shall tell.

    1. Prachetas- Ten sons of King Prācīnabarhi. Great devotees of Lord Viṣṇu

    2. 21 prajapatis- They are Brahmā’s manas putr ( born out of mind), the sons who helped populate the universe.

    3. Vishve-devas-  universal gods who uphold righteousness and cosmic order. ( they are 10 sons of dharma )

    4. Sadhyas- Perfected heavenly beings who constantly worship the Lord.

    5. Guhyakas-Semi-divine beings serving Kubera (god of wealth); guardians of hidden treasures.
