Generally it is believed that the son should perform Shraadh for the deliverance to his ancestors. My question is that, who should perform Shraadh for a young one in the family? Whether his parents can perform Shraadh for him?

It is said that the purpose of any Shradh is to repay the debts we have towards our ancestors and to remember those relatives who have passed for their heavenly abode.
Now you see as the person is younger to you as per his material age, but he could be your father in last birth and you neglected the performing of Shaardha karma to him.( or you may somehow be indebted to him) . . Now you are paying for it. ( this is as per my understanding).
If there the youngest one in a family passed and he is not married or not having any sons' then it is the responsibility of the father only to perform for his son.
He has come to your family only for your sake.. to make you pay off the debts and there by relieve you of your karma.
Who else can do? only the father here in this case.... but it is really unfortunate situation.
We had seen this type of situation in our family ( far relation) ..where the father had done the last rights of the his own child.
