In Sanskrit, Malam means impure or contaminated substance. Malechaas is the term used in vedic times for the people who would eat pigs and other lower animals. Mala also means the stool of an animal and iccha means to desire about something. So, malechaas means the one who desire to eat something very impure (pork).

    Hari bol!!!

    • Which is correct:maleccha or mleccha? If mleccha comes from mala+icchA then how it became mleccha and not maleccha?
