which mantra for chanting

Hare Krishna,

We see Narad muni instructing Dhruva Maharaja the mantra: "Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya."

SB4.8.54: Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya. This is the twelve-syllable mantra for worshiping Lord Krsna.

But we are supposed to use the Hare Krishna maha-mantra for chanting.

Shall we use only Hare Krishna maha-mantra for chanting,and not any other mantra ? why ?

Please help me in clarifying this doubt.

    Thank you Prabhujis for sharing this information. I got some more detail and main point : "belief". Anyway I am chanting Harekrishna mahamatra only. The question was suddenly appeared in my mind. Thanks a lot.

                            The Hare Krishna Mantra is called the Taraka Maha Mantra , It is the Mantra for this Kaliyuga , It has been there since Ancient Vedic Times ,But its Significance now is Much More , Chaitanya Maha Prabhu Has Recommended Us chant this Hare krishna Maha Mantra to Deliver from the cycle of Birth & Death. So this Mantra is Especially For the Brahma Madhava Gaudya Sampradaya .

                                       first of all everything is your beleif. Words can be different but feeling should also be same and every time in surrunder and every time you feel and find all the things answered by Kirshna.
