Hare Krishna, PAMHO, I have a quick doubt about ekadashi. Some people say yogini ekadashi starts on july 1 and some say july 2nd. This also happens for other ekadashi as well a date before or a date after. Does this mean i should fast for 2 days?

Hare KRsna Prabhuji,
PAMHO.
Ekadasi fast is to be observed only one day, not 2 days.
As you are aware, we follow the lunar calendar in vaishnavism. So there are days when 2 tithis come. In other words, the duration of each tithi or day may vary. The explanation given in this regard is - if there is a day starting with dashami and ending iwth ekadasi, that is dasami mixed ekadasi, it is not fit for fasting. However, if there is a day starting with ekadasi and going on to dwadasi, then that is a good day to fast.
In Gaudiya vaishnav, what we follow is "udiya tithi". At sunrise, what is the tithi? If it is ekadasi, then we observe fast on that day.
I hope I have been able to explain.
