Very subjective question-depends on various factors like levels of attachment,material status,kids, and ofcourse spiritual quotient.Frankly speaking India( and most of the world) is a Patriarchal society ( Male head of family) and things are always more difficult if the head or leader is lost right?In vedic life a women always has to be under the shelter of a man (father,husband or son) also it was considered fortunate for a woman to die before her husband.Kindly do not ask me to quote the source of this knowledge-

i just wanted to confirm setence which i heard.i agree what you say.as i understand women has more strength to tolerate miseries may be thats why while arranging marriage wifes age is less than husbands age.
means anyway both have to die but one who dies first then other has to suffer (as per natural cycle older will die first) .i happen to see such situations rescently so felt sentence can be true.
the main intension was how vedic system has been arranged which considers such subtle things.
