Taking medicine is very good but at the same time one must mind the sobriety. We are very sick and we are taking medicine to cure. Chanting holyname is medicine but at the same time we must avoid the things which is not favourable. If you are doing it intentionly it will reduce your bhakti and you will loose interest of chanting.

  • Hare Krishna,

I did that aparadh last week when I was in Vegeterian

restaurant. I had everything in Jain except one dish

which was tempting, I took out onion chips from that

dish and had it. Still I am not sure if I have consumed

some. Anyways at that time I could not control my

desire and my brain told me its not that big offense.

I even had coffee twice in flight when I was experiencing

severe cold and headache. I am not very strong in some

aspects. Still I don't regret and not hard on myself. I know

it is a mistake. For me chanting is more important.

    Regards

    Aakash

  • Chanting or singing holy names without offenses will saves you from the results of any apparadha,

but you should try not to do it again just because you can neutralize on this way.

The words "without offenses" means with humble state of mind or with deep love.

Praying to Lord for forgiveness with a humble state of mind in every religion can neutralize any apparadha,

and not only that, it can start waking bhakti.

    Hare Krsna Mataji,

    PAMHO.

Results are the aparadh is multifold if one does it intentionally. If one has to eat onion garlic, then better to remove the kanthi mala. One can continue chanting and automatically will want to give up these two items. Then one can give up.
