Hare Krishna to all the devotees

All glories to srila Prabhupada 

Purushottam maas has arrived, I have got to know that it is very dear to lord krishna. 

Is it because he added this as new maas (adhik Maas) to kill hiranyakashipu or is there any other special reason?

Also I have heard that in this maas we should learn and chant verses and ashtakas which are special for this maas and pleasing to the lord!

I have got to know about caurashtaka but I wanted to know which are the specific verses and ashtakas we should chant, like Damodar ashtaka and Damodar lila is changed on Damodar asktakam!
