Hare Krishna Prabhuji / Mataji,

Dandavat Pranam

My humble obeisances unto your lotus feet

Every early morning i go to the society garden to pluck bloomed flowers to offer to Shree Krishna, Srila Prabhupada and other deities. Some days there are people who interrupt me from plucking flowers saying that others wont get it or you would get a shouting for plucking the flowers. The thing i noticed is there are many non devotees in the society and not many pluck flowers and the flowers are still on the tree the next getting wasted. I never say anything in return to whatever is said to me but what is Krishna trying to say in this? shoul i not pluck flowers or should i just listen to them. I really like to decorate Krishna with fresh flowers, does Krishna doesnt wants my seva?

     Hare Krsna Mataji,

    PAMHO.

The idea is to strike a balance - I understand your concern, that the flowers are otherwise going waste, better to put them in the service of the lord. Unfortunately, everyone doesnt think like that. There are enough people who like to see flowers on the plants itself. Who think that they have made a flower garden, so flowers should be there on the pplants for everyone to see and enjoy the beauty.

    The options are:

    1) Plant your own flower garden in maybe some designated area in the society and pluck to your heart's content. Nobody will object.

    2) Buy some flowers everyday or as and when required, so that you have enough flowers for garland making. Pluck some flowers, but never so much that it pinches whoever put the plants there.

We have a different outlook towards life than materialists. This disconnect is there and will be there. To survive among them and not make them feel inferior or uncomfortable, we have to adjust in such a manner that they want to come to us and learn from us how we are happy and satisfied in all situations. That requires a lot of tolerance and sadhana.

Thank you for your advice mataji. I buy flowers for Krishna a day before from which i make garlands, but i like to offer fresh flowers too.

I will keep mataji's advice in my mind.
