Hari, the mataji that lives above us seems to be very unstable, she has been causing kur little family so much anxiety lately coming down the stair and trying tolet her self into our room and scream at us about rising to early, if we we keep the door locked she will smash and slam at the door demanding we open it and screams for us to fight her, it is absolutely crazy, we also have told temple authorities and they saythat she is just a senior devotee and is just like that, can anyone please maybe mentally help us getthrough this?

This senior lady is shouting at you for waking up early or trying to motivate you to wake up early? I am not able to understand from your mail.
If the temple is not helping, then help yourself. If someone is abusive, you can politely tell her or any family member who stays with her or away from her about her behaviour and request them to intervene. Maybe you ask her when she is calm why she is behaving like this?
If she stays alone and is frustrated, maybe you tell her you will supply prasadam for her everyday (my guess is this will not work. She will then constantly complain about the prasadam she gets).
The way is to change your residence if it is possible, or to publicly tell her in the temple that she is behaving like this and it is not acceptable. Maybe you take a video of her and show in the temple.
Best of luck - this appears to be an unsolvable problem.

The best you can do is praying to Lord for the welfare of such unhappy person.
The power of a faithful praying is unlimited.
Hare Krsna,
