What should be a students attitude?

Hare Krishna. I am a student studying material subjects. What should be my mindset while studying?  As per karma yoga one should work for the sake of working and surrender his results to Krishna. That being said, how do I ,as a stident, succesfully execute karma yoga???

I would be very grateful to anyone who brings me out of this doubt.

Hare Krishna.

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Since you are in student life, it is the best time to start practising Krsna Consciousness. Please wake up at mangal muhurta (1.5 to 2 hours before sunrise) and chant 16 rounds of mahamantra, do mangalarati. Read/ hear lectures for half an hour, so guru puja and then get ready to go to class. Evening you can devote to your studies. This way, you are doing sadhana in the morning and studies in the evening. Once or twice a week, you could attend any congregational praechihng program in your area if there are any.' You should be a vegeterian, avoiding onion and garlic and eat only Krsna prasadam ideally. Read Srila Prabhupada books in your free time.

While studying, you should think that you have to study because as a student, it is your prescribed duty - therefore study with diligence and give your exams with sincerity.

It will help if you are in a devotee congregation. Please contact your local ISKCON temple and find out about the congregational preaching over there.

    Haribol,

    YOur servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD

SB 7.6.25Nothing is unobtainable for devotees who have satisfied the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the cause of all causes, the original source of everything. The Lord is the reservoir of unlimited spiritual qualities. For devotees, therefore, who are transcendental to the modes of material nature, what is the use of following the principles of religion, economic development, sense gratification and liberation, which are all automatically obtainable under the influence of the modes of nature? We devotees always glorify the lotus feet of the Lord, and therefore we need not ask for anything in terms of dharma, kāma, artha and mokṣa.

SB 7.6.26Religion, economic development and sense gratification — these are described in the Vedas as tri-varga, or three ways to salvation. Within these three categories are education and self-realization; ritualistic ceremonies performed according to Vedic injunction; logic; the science of law and order; and the various means of earning one’s livelihood. These are the external subject matters of study in the Vedas, and therefore I consider them material. However, I consider surrender to the lotus feet of Lord Viṣṇu to be transcendental.

SB 7.7.51-52My dear friends, O sons of the demons, you cannot please the Supreme Personality of Godhead by becoming perfect brāhmaṇas, demigods or great saints or by becoming perfectly good in etiquette or vast learning. None of these qualifications can awaken the pleasure of the Lord. Nor by charity, austerity, sacrifice, cleanliness or vows can one satisfy the Lord. The Lord is pleased only if one has unflinching, unalloyed devotion to Him. Without sincere devotional service, everything is simply a show.
  • Specifically, if we talk about Karma yoga then in one of following way one can surrender his results to Krishna.

    1) Become a learned & successful man to help in Krishna Consciousness. (Preaching KC)

    2) Krishna can we severed in anyway. For if you are doctor then cure the part n parcel of lord, or give best treatment to devotees, if you are mechanic, then create machines so that devotee's or part n parcel of lord can be served, everyone is serving Krishna, they know it or doesn't know it. Main aim of service is get the love of lord, and love is when you served the Lord without expectation in return. KC is not limited to time, place, situations.

    3) One should always see Krishna in every of his doing, with realization

    4) One should offer every of his/her doing Lord in mind.

    5) One should not think that he/she is the only doer of his/her activities.

    6) One should not think, body as self but work that body is engaging in the modes of nature and soul is aloof from all this activities by working in this consciousness one is free from false ego, which is root cause of sins.

    7) One has live life until previous karma got exhausted and so one should work like that he/she will not attached to work but work in a way that both spiritual & material life should be balanced.

    8) Whatever fruits one will get from his work take it as mercy of lord, (Good or Bad)

    9) Accept whatever is favorable to devotional service and reject what is unfavorable.
