What is the significance and story behind Lord Hayagriva(horse-faced Vishnu's incarnation)?

It is said that Lord Hayagriva glorified the Supreme Lord as Goddess Lalitha Thripurasundari and gave LalithopAkyAnam and mentored Sage Agasthya.

In the Sri Lalitha SahasranAma stothram, one of  Her names is 'Govinda Roopini' and Govinda is Lord Krishna. Is Sri Krishna's female form incarnated/manifested as Lalitha Thripurasundari?

  • Hare Krishna and Greetings!

The Vedabase website has lots of information on Lord Hayagriva and His adi-lila. Here is a link that might give you more information on His Lordship. (http://vedabase.net/sb/7/9/37/en2)

Hare Krishna Suresh Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! all glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Nice that You know so much, but unfortunately i do not know anything about which You told.

But as per Bhagavatam Lord Hayagriva came in order to bring back stolen Vedas and give it back to Lord Brahma.

Also as per Bhagavatam Lord Krishna's female incarnation is known as Mohini Murti. She came in this form in order to cheat demons and take from them the nectar and to give to the Demigods.

    Your servant,
