WHat Gayatri mataji has said is correct. I will try to explain in simpler and modern terms. All living entities have free will, it is our choice what we choose. The result of that choice is action. Every action will have reaction. Like suppose there is a giant software - the rules of the software of this world has been made by God. Where we land in that software because of our choices is our karma, we cannot blame God for our miseries. We have chosen to enjoy independent of Him.
Suppose you are crossing the road and suddenly it strikes you not a dry leaf moves without the will of the lord, so if the lord wants, I will be saved from accident even if I am careless and decide to walk your own way without following traffic rules. Mostly, an accident is certain. At that time, you cannot blame God and say it was His will, thats why the accident happened. It was actually your free will to test God at that point of crossing the road (without surrendering to the will of the lord), without following traffic rules, that has caused the accident. What I am trying to say is that the action is in our hands, the fruits of that action is not in our hands. It is decided as a factor of - 1) our past karma, 2) will of the lord, 3) rules of karmakanda (very complicated, dont get into it), 4) our level of surrender to the lord.
I hope I have been able to explain.
Just a small suggestion prabhuji. You are having a lot of questions. The panel of devotees here are happy to answer your queries. It is possible you have doubts arising from our answers. Please be polite in your query - better u decide first what is really we have and what really his will is ! - this is not humble way of suggesting or asking.
You have not understood what that prabhuji said. I have never said we lose our ego when we leave the material world. I said we lose the subtle body, by purifying the ego from false ego to true ego. In the spiritual world, there is only true ego. It can get contaminated by wanting to enjoy independent of the lord. The moment such a desire arises, Krsna allows us to enjoy by putting us in the material world. But we cannot enjoy independent of Krsna. Thats why we are always miserable in the material world, despite all the efforts on our side.
Prabhu ji Krishna gives everyone energy and free will to do karma. Every energy within u is from HIM you decide how u want to utilize free will and energy provided. YES, The energy can make you lift the dry leaf also. WHo provided you the energy ? food? where did it come from? Nature? who made nature? GOD.
Its up to you how u utilize his free will and energy provided.
You may do good karma or bad karma., one who Buddhi is in KC will certainly try to do karma that is useful for the entire humanity. One whose buddhi is vakra will certainly fix his mind on senses and be doing sense gratification activities only. He will surely incur sins as per his deeds. Krishna is just sitting in the heart of everyone one as a witness to ur deeds. The day you forgot ur real relationship with Krishna and identified urself to the material possessions you consider you are only responsible for all the things forgetting that that cause of all causes is Lord Sri Krishna. You start to feel you are doer. That is when you u incur sins. Whatever u sow u shall reap. You misuse the free will you are certainly responsible for your deeds.
Mind is what we call "mann" in hindi. Intelligence is buddhi. No specific place in the body. It is all pervasive. That is why it is called subtle body.
Earth, water, fire, air, ether - these are the gross elements
Mind, intelligence, ego - these are the subtle elements that comprise the body.
When the soul leaves the body, it leaves only the gross body. The subtle body remains the same. Only when the soul transmigrates to the spiritual world, it leaves the subtle body.
Ego will always be there. Our body consists of ego as one of the 8 elements of which it is composed. Therefore, we cannot wish it away. The only thing we can do is purify that ego - convert from false ego - I am this body, lord and master of all I survey - to true ego - I am soul, part and parcel of supersoul. My duty is to serve this supersoul.
The cause of being miserable is our forgetfulness of our true identity and its relationship with God. Our identification with the body, considering the body to be the self, forgetting that we are not the body, we are soul is the prime cause of our miseries. Our desire to enjoy this body, to enjoy the material world using the body is the cause of miseries. Our forgetting that we have a relationship with the supersoul, God is the cause of our miseries.

Therefore, Ego is not permanent.

it's not egoistic because "i" am very tiny and this universe is HUGE and God is even more BIGGER.
