Hare Krishna all,
What are the qualities of a mahajan and why Bramhaji is counted among mahajans? who lusted his own daughter. I feel un answered looking at lot of immorality that was carried by so called great people (not Krishna, I know krishna is supreme he is our creator) on the name of higher purpose.
Why all the rishi munis who have blessed women of that time with babies did not empowered their husbands to beget children. They are powerful and hope they can do that, I know the answer would be that it not like material conceiving but by their powerful glance. Anyways, I have heard so many justifications but still due to my limited intelligence couldnt digest it.

Hare Krsna Prabhuji,
PAMHO.
I will try to answer to the extent I know.
Brahma is a post prabhuji. Only when a soul qualifies, after a lot of sadhana and pious deeds, can the soul become Brahma. Brahma is the highest jiva in the material world. So, it is understood that the very fact that soul is given the post of Brahma means that he has earned the post by his pious good deeds and sadhana. Suppose no soul qualifies to become Brahma, then the lord expands Himself to become Brahma.
The Brahma we are discussing is a soul, not expansion of Lord. So we are not qualified to judge the activities of that Brahma. For instance, this entire episode of lusting for own daughter can be taken to be a lesson to the material world - lust is something even Brahma cannot escape, so sadhaka devotees have to be very careful. It can be taken to be a lesson to us lowly, unqualified jivas to not pass judgements - we will be cursed the way those demigods were.
There is a shloka in Gita - api cet suduracharo.... momentary lapse is forgiven by the lord, then who are we to not forgive or even to question.
Regarding sages not giving boon to the husbands to beget children through their wives, it is because of the past karma of the husband that he cannot have a child. At the same time, it is the karma of the wife that she will have child, but not from the husband. So the sages step in. There is a story of Gokarna and Dhundhukari in Srimad Bhagawatam mahatmya - that also touches on this topic. That brahmana did not have santaan sukh in his kundali (happiness from child in his horoscope). So though he got the sweet rice and gave his wife, he was driven out of his house by so called son.
I hope I have been able to clarify somewhat prabhuji.
Pls feel free to ask questions if you have any.
Haribol,
Your servant,
Radha Rasamayi DD
Sri Brahma who perfectly control his senses is never lusty, because he is not under influence of illusion and ignorance.
Because of the misunderstanding of Srimad Bhagavatam, many preachers talk how Sri Brahma fell from his position into lusty desire. They do not understand that Sri Brahma just played his rolle in the mission of Lord.
Brahma aparadha is Krishna aparadha, therefore all the effort for progress goes in vain, as the water trough the hole on the bottom of the pot.
The only danger in the life of vaishnavas, are offences to pure devotees.
SB 10.85.47 — The Supreme Lord said:
During the age of the first Manu, the sage Marīci had six sons by his wife Ūrnā. They were all exalted demigods, but once they laughed at Lord Brahmā when they saw him preparing to have sex with his own daughter.
One should not judge great souls even if it seems they commit heavy sins, because what ever they do consider to be in the service of the Lord. Every Vaishnava who desire progress should always have that on mind.
