It is late to reply but even though.
Srila Prabhupada, as we know appeared after Janmashtami night. Because of that we celebrate it the next day of Janmashtami by observing fast till noon.
We celebrate his appearance as he used to clebrate his own Guru Maharaj's vyasa puja which is the same with all others. Fasting, remembering, hearing lecture about him, making offerings, chanting and dancing and feasting. Sometimes in many Temples they offer Janmashtami Prasadam (108 or 1008 items) to Srila Prabhupada the next day then only offer it to others.
