  • Hare Krishna Prabuji,

The Vishnava calender is 15 days earlier than the Shaka calendar or Hindu calencer which is adopted by the Government of India.

Example is: 21/10/2021 is the First day of Karthika/Damodara month in Vishnava calender whereas the same date is 16th day of Aswija month.

I think it will be like In the Vishnava calender Each month first Krishna paksha (wanning moon) then Shukla paksha (Waxing moon) whereas in Hindu calender is each monthe Shukla paksha then Krishna paksha.

Hare Krishna Ashwani Kumar Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! all glories to Srila Prabhupada!

i do not know about Hindu calendar but our calendar is from the appearance Day of Lord Nimay.

Vaishnava new year began this year in the evening - 8th of March the Appearance Day of Lord Nimay.

Lord Gouranga reestablished the Yuga Dharma for this age because of that Vaishnava calendar is according to His instructions we accept that as a truth.

    Your servant,
