The marwari custom of touching elders feet everytime we meet them or part from them is a very good practise and shoudl be followed - pls continue.
The difference between marwari pranam and vaishnav pranam is:
1) Marwari pranam is touching the feet of elders whereas vaishnav pranam is doing dandvat in front of the person without touching the person.
2) Marwari pranam is only to elders, whereas vaishnav pranam is to all vaishnavas who we consider to be senior to us - effectively everyone. We are allowed to accept vaishnav pranam only from whom we are the shiksha guru.
Doing pranam is a way to keep us humble and inspires positivity in others to whom we offer pranam. Getting blessings is so natural in our process.
I am also a marwari. What I do is - to family members, its marwari pranam. To vaishnavas - vaishnav pranam. For older vaishnavas, both.
