pamho, hare krishna,

Once a devotee from Radha Gopinath Temple told me in a chastising mood:

99% of Krishna Consciousness is just common sense.  You just need to observe.

How do I understand the difference between matter and spirit soul ?

  • Example for this is a doctor about to perform a surgery on his own son. If the doc started to fear and think about the results of the surgery even before performing and losing his peace of mind ( like arjuna) he cannot do his regular prescribed duty.

He must perform the surgery without getting his emotions coming in the way. For every simple problem in our day to day life also there is solution in gita.

Gita is like a manual guide for how to use this body for higher purposes. To read to listen to understand gita also is easy all thanks to the translation by Srila Prabhupada we are able to easily read it in English. Implementing it and working according to Krishna's guidelines is toughtest. It is surely not common sense. It is only By His grace and grace of guru maharaj we can become perfect in implementing also.

  • To read it is easy. By the grace of Srila Prabhupada great sanskirt verses have been simplified and put in simple English easy to read and understand.

KC is not about reading and understanding alone. Its also implementing on what is read and learnt.

Bhagwat Gita should be applied to day to day life and implemented. The toughest part is implementation part.

    Hare Krishna.

  • And common sense is not very common!!!!!!!

You cannot understand anything about Krishna /matter or sprit soul any other concepts unless u surrender to a guru and follow the foot steps of acharyas. It does look like common sense thingy outwardly. But Krishna is not easily attainable toughest of all Gods to be pleased. But but but.. He is easily conquered by those who are in loving devotional service of Lord.

there is outercovering of the soul that is body. body is made of matter.

Mater is made up of 5 elements ( pancha bhootas) air, fire, water, earth and ether. The body dies but the soul never dies.

Soul can change from one body to another. This is basic information. You need to go thru Bhagwat gita chapter 2 purport by Srila Prabhupad  to get more understanding of matter and spirit and take lesson under guidance by a guru.

    Hare Krishna.

    • Sorry to use You. It is for anyone. One cannot understand about Krishna/matter /spirit or any other concepts unless one surrenders to a guru. ( correction.

      Thanks

      Hare Krishna.
