Hare Krishna dear Devotees, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
It won't be an idiot box if we use it for watching KC movies, cartoons, or other KC videos. Otherwise on TV we find only things which advertise and glorify sinful things like: illicit sex, gambling, drugs, alcoholism, murder, violence...
and agitate our mind.
HH Indradyumna Maharaja in one of His lectures told that 30 minutes of watching TV will destroy results of 6 months full done Temple Sadhana. so powerful!
the sound vibration plays very big role in our life. musics performed by people who have dirty desires are also contaminated because of that the person who listens those musics will cultivate similar desires.

TV should be rejected by devotees without any regret. Or, simply use your TV for KC side.
