trust on lord or self protection?

hare krishna!

i have a doubt regarding the above topic. according to swami narayan's [neelkanth] story when swamy narayan was meditating in a village he was advised by the temple priest to meditate inside the temple as during the night time a lion would enter the village and thus his life might be at risk.

swami narayan said " walls cannot prevent death . nothing can. so it is useless to  hide. i shall meditate in the open itself" .

I made up  a similar situation. suppose there is a temple on the roadside and you are praying there.

suddenly a rash driver approaches you at a high speed. should we move or should we stay  there?

My mother says " god has given you a brain to think and legs to move. without using them you are sitting silent and expecting god to help you. why not use the gift of intelligence and move?"

i  am utterly confused......

please help.

hare krishna!

  • Trust on Lord & Have Full Faith on Him....

    Mark 11:23

"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

    Matthew 21:21

Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.

    Matthew 17:20

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Look at life of Jesus, he never walk away for self protection even though he is crucified.

Please try to look at our lives we are always running for self protections (wealth, comforts etc) & gives lord always second priority ....

Even though Vedas clearly speak this world to be temporary and God to be only Truth, how much little faith we have?

The disease of the modern civilized man is his disbelief of everything in the revealed scriptures. Faithless nonbelievers cannot make progress in spiritual realization, for they cannot understand the spiritual potency. The small fruit of a banyan contains hundreds of seeds, and in each seed is the potency to produce another banyan tree with the potency to produce millions more of such fruits. This law of nature is visible before us, although how it works is beyond our understanding. This is but an insignificant example of the potency of Godhead; there are many similar phenomena that no scientist can explain.Everything, in fact, is inconceivable, for the truth is revealed only to the proper persons.

BG 9.3: Those who are not faithful in this devotional service cannot attain Me, O conqueror of enemies. Therefore they return to the path of birth and death in this material world. (Faithless)

BG 9.11: Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature as the Supreme Lord of all that be. (Faithless)

BG 9.22: But those who always worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form — to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have. (Faithful)

BG 9.30: Even if one commits the most abominable action, if he is engaged in devotional service he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated in his determination. (Faithful)

Krishna:  My dear Arjuna, thus I have revealed this secret about Myself. This secret is difficult to understand, but I have reveal it to you because you won't find fault with Me when I do.  By understanding this knowledge you will become free from the miseries of this material world.  This knowledge is the king of all knowledge. As bhakti is king, this knowledge is also king. It is the topmost secret because bhakti is secret.

    • hare krishna!

thank you sagar sharma for clarifying my doubt.

but i have one more question. are the events in life which threaten our existence in this material world a test conducted by god so that we can analyze ourselves?

      • Hare Krishna Prabhuji

        God doesn't conduct any test....

In Actual this is not a good place for a sane man... therefore one should develop deep faith in God.

As he is the only one to whom we can truth & capable to take out us from such world....

Bg 9.29I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him.

Bg 9.33How much more this is so of the righteous brāhmaṇas, the devotees and the saintly kings. Therefore, having come to this temporary, miserable world, engage in loving service unto Me.
