Hare Krishna, As I recall, Teej is the common name for a series of Hindu festivals celebrated by women in many parts of India. (mainly in North and Central India) and Nepal. Haryali Teej and Harthalika Teej welcome the rainy season and are celebrated mostly by girls and women with songs, dances, and prayer rituals. Teej's seasonal rains festivals are primarily dedicated to Parvati and her union with Shiva. Women often fast in honor of Teej.
