Supersoul

Paramātmā is situated in the hearts of all living beings. He has four hands, which hold four symbolic weapons. All devotees who think of the Paramātmā within the heart worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead as the temple Deity. They also understand the impersonal features of the Lord and His bodily rays, the Brahman effulgence.
(Srimad Bhagavatam--5:7:7---purport).

When the mind is engaged at the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, the intelligence is purified, and then the intelligence gets inspiration from the Supersoul (dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ tam). Thus the living entity makes progress toward liberation from material bondage. The individual living soul is subject to the laws of fruitive activity, but the Supersoul, Paramātmā, is not affected by the fruitive activities of the individual soul. As confirmed in the Vedic Upaniṣad, the Paramātmā and the jīvātmā, who are likened to two birds, are sitting in the body. The jīvātmā is enjoying or suffering by eating the fruits of the bodily activities, but the Paramātmā, who is free from such bondage, witnesses and sanctions the activities of the individual soul as the individual soul desires.
(Srimad Bhagavatam--7:2:47---purport).

Being in a bewildered condition, therefore, the embodied soul identifies himself with the circumstantial material body and becomes subjected to the temporary misery and happiness of life. The Lord is the constant companion of the living entity as Paramātmā, or the Supersoul, and therefore He can understand the desires of the individual soul, as one can smell the flavor of a flower by being near it. Desire is a subtle form of conditioning for the living entity. The Lord fulfills his desire as he deserves: Man proposes and God disposes. The individual is not, therefore, omnipotent in fulfilling his desires. The Lord, however, can fulfill all desires, and the Lord, being neutral to everyone, does not interfere with the desires of the minute independent living entities.
(Bhagavad-Gita-----5:15-----purport).

Actually, every living entity is intended to abide by the dictation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is seated in everyone's heart as Paramātmā. When the mind is misled by the external, illusory energy, one becomes entangled in material activities. Therefore, as soon as one's mind is controlled through one of the yoga systems, one should be considered to have already reached the destination. One has to abide by superior dictation. When one's mind is fixed on the superior nature, he has no alternative but to follow the dictation of the Supreme. The mind must admit some superior dictation and follow it. The effect of controlling the mind is that one automatically follows the dictation of the Paramātmā, or Supersoul. Because this transcendental position is at once achieved by one who is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the devotee of the Lord is unaffected by the dualities of material existence, namely distress and happiness, cold and heat, etc. This state is practical samādhi, or absorption in the Supreme.
(Srimad Bhagavatam-----6:7-----purport).

The first one, Mahā-viṣṇu, creates the total material energy, known as the mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes and is known as Paramātmā. He is present even within the atoms. Anyone who knows these three Viṣṇus can be liberated from material entanglement."
(Srimad Bhagavatam-----7:4-----purport).

what is Parmatma or the supersoul doing inside our body alongside the soul. Is he only observing our activities and doing nothing else ? When we say krishna is seeing us, does it mean He as Parmatma is seeing us or he at Goloka is seeing us. what is his activity as supersoul ?

looks like silly question but please help me find the answer. I am confussed.

Yes, you able to see the dictation of paramathama, In self realization we see ourself distinct from matter and in paramatma realization we become aware of the dictation of paramathma and live our life according to his instructions.

Hare Krishna Rahul Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Vishnu maintains the mode of goodness. Beginning is in the passion, ending is in the mode of ignorance and maintenance is in the mode of goodness.

We - souls never act in this world. The soul's action is only to desire. Soul desires and by the SANCTION of Paramatma Demigods fulfill our desires. For example, soul desires to hold hands up. Paramatma gives sanction and Demigods hold hands up.

We are eternal parts and parcels of God because of that we are His children. Because of that He never leaves us. It is a deep love which unites God and souls...

Paramatma form of the Lord is not eternal form as like Krishna. He is there as You truly said to observe our actions and give suitable reactions. He is equal to everyone. When person is not yet a Devotee only Paramatma observes him/her but when person starts to serve to Krishna Krishna in Goloka Vrindavan takes care of him/her.

Paramatma is there but within our heart and within our soul there is Shyamasundara Krishna. When one becomes a Devotee then that Shyamasundara starts to take care of him.

Hare Krishna Rahul Prabhuji. Dandavat Pranam. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

sarvasya caham hridi sannivishto mattah smritir jnanam apohanam ca

vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyo vedanta-krid veda-vid eva caham ~ BG 15.15

I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas.

So this is the answer to your question, Krishna as his paramatma or supersoul  expansion is seated in evryone's heart and therefore directing us by providing knowledge, rememberance and forgetfulness. As Krishna Saying here

BG 18.61: The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.

Now Here we find three activities for which a living entity is dependent on Paramatma

    1. Knowledge

    2. Rememberance

    3. Forgetfulness.

So we must understand that these three things are not happen by our own effort rather Paramatma helps us to do any kind of work by providing us Knowledge, rememberance and forgetfulness So therefore we are dependent on paramathma feature of Krishna for these subtle activities.

And also externally whatever activity we do it is not that we perform those activity by our single handed effort as we find in BG there are many other factors are involved in a living entity's any kind of activity

BG 18.14: The place of action [the body], the performer, the various senses, the many different kinds of endeavor, and ultimately the Supersoul -- these are the five factors of action.

Whatever action we perform in this world is under the three modes (passion, goodness and ignorance) of nature, because world is outcome of the modes only Now three modes is material energy of Krishna As we see in BG

BG 9.10: This material nature (goodness, passion, ignorance), which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.

So all this confirm that nothing is independent of Krishna , Krishna as Paramathma helping us by giving knowledge, rememberance, forgetfulness and as supreme Brahman He is controlling the three modes of nature or material energy. Therefore upanisad says  sarvam khalv idam brahma ~ Chandogya Upanishad 3.14.1 means everything is Brahman or Krishna nothing exists independent of him in this creation , therefore He is actually facilitating all the things we needed to perform any activity .

    Hope this will help
