Stuff to be offered to lord

Hare Krishna to all the devotees

All glories to srila Prabhupada

Since the food offered to lord should be pure - atleast not been eaten from by anyone.

But when we purchase sweets (say ladu) from shops , from them many ladoos have already been sold and eaten. Same with fruits. So is it okay to offer them to lord?

Can I offer some ladoo made in house to lord Jagannath when I go to temple?

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Regarding buying sweets from any shop and offering to the lord - yes it will have been sold to someone else and consumed by that person. What we do is - ideally make the sweets at home and offer. When not possible and we have to buy or someone gifts us a sweet box, we always offer to the lord before consuing it ourselves. Even if the sweets have been consumed by others. They are not related to us - oir whatever, we are buying them now. We should not eat before consuming.

Look at it this way, when it came to us, before we ate, we offered to the lord. Better than eating without offering, right?

Regarding fruits - cannot possibly grow everything ourselves right? It will have to be purcahsed only. Then wash, cut, put on a plate and offer to the lord. If it is not possible to cut the fruits, offer them whole. There is no fault in this.

I hope your doubt is clarified. If still there are further doubts, please ask.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD

    • My mother made some ladoo but I forgot out some aside from them in starting, and of course my family members picked some from tydm and ate them. So mow i cant offer them, but when I offer fruits which are purchased from outside how shiuld i offer them?

  • Hare Krishna! Forgive me but I didn't understand your comment.

I mean No one buys eaten laddu or fruits even for themselves then what to speak of offering to the Lord

    • No i meant that when you buy they (the shopkeeper) will pick up from those from which some has already been sold. And ofcourse eaten.

      • Hare Krishna 🙏 Good morning

Sorry I have no idea about that. All I can say is that if you wish to offer sweets or fruits then buy it from a Hindu retailers because we all know that muslims spit into whatever they cook and even in fruits vegetables etc

The best and safest is to offer home made food.

        • Hare Krishna prabhuji

muslims spit into whatever they cook and even in fruits vegetables etc - literally or it's just because of sentiments?

          • Bro it's world famous. You will find several videos on YouTube where a cook spits in his preparation.  Initially I thought it was their plan to desroy Hindus but then I realised that it's in their religion. It's called Halal.  Read this link

This is my genuine reaction. Although we don't know whether everyone is doing it or if they are actually doing it To the food prepared for public but   I shall avoid their food now. Fir safety purposes.

              Hare Krishna

              • Good descision . Every muslim is doing it bro because it's in their scriptures.  During COVID times it was at its peak. I realised it then. I buy from my selected fruit and vegetable vendors. I have stopped using my favourite Himalaya toothpaste for years now

                • I dont think a company will do that
