In the word Bhaga-van , Bhaga means fortune or opulences and Van means possessor so the two words together means who possess all the opulences or who is most fortunate (These opulences are: 1) Strength, 2) Fame, 3) Wealth, 4) Knowledge, 5) Beauty, and 6) Renunciation). Now when someone in this material world possess any or some of the oppulences mentioned above people call him that person is blessed by Lord similarly as Lord possess all the opulences in full his devotees like to call him blessed though there is no one greater to bless him But still as He is the possesser of all His devotees call him blessed.
