SPIRIT AND SOUL

Hare Krishna everyone

Please accept my humble obeisances

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Is spirit equal to soul? If not, what is the difference between a spirit and a soul?

Many devotees i know told me that we are indeed "spirit souls". So i had this little doubt.

I would be so extremely grateful if someone could clarify this.

    these are almost same words.

    no difference in English dictionary. Maybe just "spirit" refers to the nature of the soul. So in this way soul is an object and spirit is a word which describes the soul. Answering to the question "What kind of?" But soul answers to the question "What is that?"

    We are atma - jiva or soul. So one can call that as a spirit.
