Hare Krishna to All.
Dandavat pranam.
We all know, Vishnu purana is a purana in Satvik mode. I was reading the story of Banasur in which there is a war between Lord Krishna and Lord Siva.
In 5th Ansha, 33rd adhyay, verse number 47, 48, 49.
Lord Krishna says to Lord Siva, "The boon which you have given (to Banasura) that all I also give. You should always see yourselves to be non-different from me. One thing that you should know that what you are is what I am and this whole manifestation, devas, asuras, manushyas are non-different from me. The people whose hearts are bewildered by Avidya (i.e. ignorance), those difference-watching (bhinna-darshi) will only see and tell the difference between me and you."
These verses I translated from hindi so forgive for the mistranslation ( if any ). I consider Lord Krishna to be supreme and just want the honest explanation about the verses as to why the Lord said this.

Hare Krishna,
Dandwat pranam,
Sorry if you are hurt. but it was just honest attempt from me to understand what the Lord himself is telling and I, of course, cannot understand vedas and so, I asked only because its in Vishnu purana (purana in satvik mode) and I was reading only that part in purana which is related to Krishna (War of Krishna with Banasur) :'(. Aim is surely not to create any duality.
Asking for forgiveness, Hare Krishna

Impersonally speaking there is no difference between us, Shiva, Krishna, other demigods. Atma(soul) is same quality as the supersoul but differs in quantity like a drop of water from ocean. Its the same water but differs in quantity. So therefore we are all non-differnt from Krishna. The example given in the Brahma-saḿhitā is that milk and yogurt are simultaneously one and different; both are milk, but the yogurt has become changed. In order to achieve real peace, one should see everything and every living entity, including Lord Brahmā and Lord Śiva, as nondifferent from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. No one is independent. Every one of us is an expansion of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
BG 9.4 By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them.
BG 9.5 And yet everything that is created does not rest in Me. Behold My mystic opulence! Although I am the maintainer of all living entities and although I am everywhere, I am not a part of this cosmic manifestation, for My Self is the very source of creation.
When Lord Krishna says to Lord Shiva, "You should always see yourselves to be non-different from me." and "tell the difference between me and you" He is actually saying the Truth(obviously He is God). Just as I explained above there is no difference qualitatively between Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna. Just as all water are the same. But 1 water is the vast ocean while the other is a drop of it.
But Lord Shiva in his original form in Vaikuntha as Sada Shiva has absolutely no difference between Krishna. Because Sada Shiva is an plenary expansion of Krishna. Meaning He posses all the qualities of God and is as powerful as God.
By the way, I would recommend you read Srimad Bhagavatam as Srila Prabhupada gives absolute clear purports to the verses. You will then understand everything "clearly".
Your Servant. Hari Bol!
Hare Krishna,
Pranaam. This makes lot of sense.
Hare Krishna
Lord Shiva is a parama vaishnava...and hence the pure devotee and Bhagwan Sri Krishna are non-different from each other...that is why Bhagwan does not mind so much if anybody is critical about Him...but if anybody does ninda of his pure devotee like Lord Shiva he does not tolerate it...likewise with Lord Shiva(he would never tolerate Krishna ninda)...if one does Shiva ninda or is critical of him even in one's mind then he/she would never be able to become a vaishnava ...

Hare Krishna Prabhuji,
Thank you for your nice replies.
But when we say, devotee and the God are same, there is still some hierarchy as to one is devotee and other is Lord (otherwise it would become mayawadi philosophy in which one can potentially become Lord). This is not quite clear from above verses. I would like if somebody can give the reference in which "Lord also tells the same regarding some other devotee other than Lord Siva (i.e. you(devotee) and me (Lord) are same)". This is important in general to firm the trust in Krishna Consciousness.
Please enlighten me about this with possibly some references.
