  • Eventually, yes, as others has said. But at first, simply focus on increasing your number of rounds. Chanting is more important than not eating onion/ garlic. A vegetarian who eats no onion or garlic, yet who does not worship the supreme Lord, has no good qualities. However, a bhakti-yogi who still eats onion and garlic is better than a nondevotee who puts on a show of renunciation.

True renunciation is being unable to think of anything else but the Lord.
  • You don't, I'm a new devotee and my family is not in Iskcon(hopefully soon though), so I still have to eat onion and garlic, but I wear tulasi mala, you can
  •  no where is it written that to become a Krishna bhakt you must wear a tulsi mala. infact by wearing a tulsi mala you lock your life in all sorts of restrictions so why take a chance if you are not mentally prepared? you may face withdrawal symptoms later and everything will be a mess. paap hoga who alag se. Krishna cons is a gradual process. take a tallycounter and keep chanting whenever and wherever you can. one day you will automatically reach that stage.

    Hare Krsna,

    PAMHO.

Yes. Pls follow the 4 regulative principles - no meat eating (including onion/ garlic), no intoxication, no illicit sex and no gambling.

Chant Hare Krsna Mahamantra every day without fail, your committed number of rounds. It is advisable to start with 4 rounds and gradually come upto 16 rounds.

Follow the ABCD of devotion - Association of devotees, reading Books of Srila Prabhupada, Chanting and Diet of only Krsna prasadam. You will become a very good devotee of Krsna.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
