Regarding Chanting on Tulsi Mala

Hare Krishna everyone,

I have been chanting 12-16 rounds for quite a few months on neem mala, following the 4 regulations, hear regularly, read Srimad Bhagavatam regularly, and Bhagavad gita, associate with devotees 2 times a week on online class.

my family is not so devotionally inclined, so although I want to give up Onion and Garlic I can't and If I rebel they won't allow me to chant also or maybe stop my devotional activities

However, I long to chant on tulsi beads, not just because everyone is chanting but I know she is a great devotee of the lord and will bless and assist me in chanting

Can I chant on tulsi mala or should I keep praying to the Lord to let me have an Onion and Garlic-free life?

Please Help

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Pray sincerely, you will get the path. What I have learnt is - obstacles in devotion are simply to make our resolve stronger. Pray to Nrisimha dev to remove the obstacles in our path, so that we can do devotion properly.

Tulsi mala - ideally no at this moment. The reason is - there are offences you will commit if you chant on Tulsi beads now. It should ideally be the initiation beads given by your Guru Maharaj. YOu are having onion garlic, so you are not able to follow all 4 regulative principles. At best, 3 and half. So better to hold on for now.

It is good to desire to chant on tulsi beads. Please continue to have the desire.

    Haribol,

    YOur servant,
